About Bob

Bob Shea is an award-winning author and illustrator of your favorite children’s books. His titles include Chez Bob, the popular Ballet Cat series, The Dinosaur VS. … series and runaway smash hit, Unicorn Thinks He’s Pretty Great. The rest escape me at the moment. Oh, he wrote Who Wet My Pants illustrated by his friend Zach Ohora.

Bob has worked with Comedy Central, designed the green-head PBS Kids logo, developed an on-air character for Playhouse Disney, worked with Nick Jr., has appeared on Noggin and The Sunny Side Up Show and worked on a super-secret project with really smart people at Google. Bob Shea is largely, if not entirely, responsible for the success of all the organizations mentioned.

His wife designed this website. The two of them live with their son in a yellow house. They all love pizza. Bob wants a dog real bad but is allergic. Isn’t that the saddest thing you’ve ever heard? Mostly he just points at and pets other people’s dogs. It’s not the same. Oh, a beaver lives in their backyard! Like, a for-real beaver. It dammed up the stream and now it’s a little eco-system with all kinds of frogs, ducks and snakes. Bob has a pen pal named Edward that he met in Chicago.

Bob was a mentor for the School of Visual Arts Visual Narrative Graduate Program.

Bob is a 2020 Eisner Award Nominee and enjoys speaking in the third person.
